Hi guys, first of all, thank you so much for your patience over the years. It's been a long time since the beta and we know you're anxiously waiting for updates or better yet, a release date. Unfortunately, the release isn't ready just yet, but we wanted to give you some information about what we're working on. Do note that everything you see here is a work in progress and can change before we release.

With no more delay, here's a peek of what we're preparing for the inclusion of WW2 into PR v1.6.

Yamalia was introduced to Project Reality in v0.9 as one of the maps to feature the new Canadian forces faction. A map featuring a vast forested area it has been subject of performance issue reports throughout the years. For this update we've again done our thing with trees, reducing them to an acceptable count but more importantly we've given it a visual makeover as Yamalia will now be a snow map.

Combining existing 3D and 2D snow assets from Dovre Winter and some excellent new ones made by [R-DEV]Mr.VdHeide the map now features updated snow pine trees and a bumpier terrain inside the forests while mostly retaining the original layout. Snow textures for Russian forces, US Army and Canadian forces have been created for this map.

Greetings everyone! Today we are happy to provide you all with this highly anticipated update.
It took us a while but we believe this will answer many of your requests for better performance in PR:BF2. We currently have limited testing capabilities, but based on QA Feedback from everyone we have seen quite a remarkable improvement in performance with this patch! If you would like to help us with this and other testing, join the testing team!

The improvements in FPS comes from moving the logic behind some of the UI elements (BUIS, scope effects, thermals, etc) from in-game to the back-end PR service (which runs the PR Launcher and Mumble connection).
This improvement moves the HUD logic to run on a separate CPU core which improves speed and reduces stuttering while allowing the main game to have more freedom in using the primary core.

Given the experimental state of these changes we decided to...

PRT Campaign 13
Nuijamaa

It took less than two minutes for the first units to begin their clash over the Nuijamaa border crossing. With the two VOG squads sent to the Immgration flag finding themselves quickly overwhelmed, the rest of VOG leapt on the opportunity to attempt an early encirclement, which never quite came to fruition. Even though this initial attempt was stunted, the temperament of both teams remained fiery, with constant intense fighting on both the eastern and western flanks of the active flags, with RPX generally winning the west, and VOG generally winning the east. Later in the round, RPX found their own opportunity to attempt an assault on VOG's flag however it too was repelled by the defenders, resetting both teams to their never-ending skirmish. In the end, VOG's mortar support proved invaluable to their efforts, managing to wreak havoc amongst RPX's ranks, ultimately giving VOG the edge to win with 8 tickets remaining....

PRT Campaign 13
Saaremaa

With both teams opting for an aggressive deployment, things got heated rather quickly for the second round of Saaremaa. The initial fighting quickly bounced between the two contested flags, with a constant back and forth of the teams trying to secure what they could. Eventually both teams managed to settle down on their own respective flags, with VOG taking the lead in tickets, but this didn't last for long as the pressure was almost immediately back on. Orissaare finally found itself out of focus when Runway Perimeter became the main point of contention. RPX had successfully managed to get VOG on the back foot territorially, managing to capture VOG's second flag. While VOG did eventually manage to temporarily reduce RPX's control of the area and flip the flag neutral, it wasn't permanent as RPX's counter attack found themselves back in control once again. With this new front line established RPX attempted to push...

PRT Campaign 13
Sbeneh Outskirts

Sbeneh saw a high level of intense close quarters combat, with both teams trying their best to overcome the constant influx of reinforcements to the main flags. While RPX initially found themselves capturing the Crossroads flag, the flag was never truly secure, with VOG managing to hold their own ground within the area. These VOG squads eventually managed to capture the flag for themselves, and with another squad on the next flag successfully managing to neutralise, things were starting to look difficult for RPX. With a rapid response, however, RPX successfully managed to secure their backline and make a push on to Crossroads, capturing that as well. With these flags under their control, a bold attempt for VOG's final flag was made by RPX but they couldn't quite manage to clear it out, eventually resulting in their loss.

PRT Campaign 13
Yamalia

This weekend saw the most intense fight over Yamalia in any campaign so far. Both teams decided on an aggressive deployment, trying to seize advantageous positions from the start. VOG managed to surprise RPX by focusing on the flags, seizing 3 of them in the first 15 minutes, with squads already putting pressure on the last RPX flag and having a healthy 50 ticket lead. Realizing this, RPX managed to redeploy their forces just in time to prevent the loss of their last flag. The battle then slowed down, with RPX establishing a defensive perimeter and grinding down the sustained VOG assaults, while trying to put pressure on the second flag, where VOG had entrenched by now. For the remainder of the battle, the fighting focused on these flags. However, VOG paid a price for their aggression: Losing entire squads and more vehicle assets to the entrenched RPX units, the ticket balance shifted to a surprisingly high 137 - 0 in...
