After a long wait, we can finally announce the next major release of Project Reality: v1.5. This will be our 38th major release! Thanks to some changes on how we make releases, we were able to build a total of 20 patches between v1.4 and v1.5. This has allowed the team to focus on new big content updates for this and future releases.

And speaking of a big content update, we are really excited to finally be able to present you with something the community has waited for a long time: The Polish faction has finally made its way into PR! Being in development for years, the Polish faction was brought together by dozens of community members (see below) working on it together with the PR-team, once again highlighting that this mod, more than anything else, lives off and grows with the dedication of its community members stepping up to the task. Thanks to all of them for their hard work!

Next to the Polish Forces there are a few new additions to other factions...

Project Reality:BF2 v1.5 and beyond

In PR:BF2 v1.5 we implemented the long awaited Polish Forces, being featured on 3 new and 1 old map. Next to that we also introduce several other new assets and features. You can find more information in the list below.

What's in store for PR next? The team was focused on both v1.5 and the long await PR:WW2 release at the same time! So the wait shouldn't be much longer now. More info will follow soon, but now it's update time!

Signups for the Officers (SL) and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) of both teams will open on:

Sunday, Sept. 10th at 1700PRT!

Grunt signups will be open at a later date.

Applicants can name the team they prefer to be assigned to as well as nominate two players to join their squad as Grunt or NCO. These two players must also nominate each other and the SL applicant when they are applying.

Sign-Ups will open on Saturday, 16 September at 1800PRT!

In the past week, the teams have been working on preparing the team structure and are now eagerly waiting to welcome their new comrades-in-arms!

Start as a regular soldier, but if you prove your leadership and fighting skills on the battlefield, work on your team's propaganda or recruit and train members for your team you can move up the ranks easily. Support your team by participating in team and squad trainings or help planning the strategy for the next battle.

Many of the officers of both teams as well as the PRT staff joined the past campaigns as soldiers and moved through the ranks. Do not hesitate to join up - even if it's only a reserve slot - everyone gets their fair chance to play and be promoted to normal soldier!...

With the officers set in place and the grunts assigned, the teams are officially ready to hit the battlefield. This weekend marks the start of the first Prep Battlecycle and therefore the true start of C13!

Over the next two weeks, intel gatherers will be scouring the maps for good positions and timings for deployment, battle-planners and Commanders will be carefully considering strategy and tactics, and grunts will be playing and fighting together, building the bonds of a strong squad for the first time. All of this in preparation for the first battle of the campaign on October 7th.

For those of you that missed the grunt sign-ups, fear not! Inevitably spots open up throughout the campaign due to change in circumstance or commitment, and we will be opening sign-ups again whenever the teams need more eager soldiers....

PRT Campaign 13
Prep Battle 1 - RPX Victory

After rising tensions in Norway, units of Riamh Pax launched a surprise airborne operation in the Dovre valley. A nearby stationed battalion of VOG units reacted and began securing the Eastern part of the valley. While RPX managed to seize control of the majority of the valley after a long and tense battle, both units chose to retreat soon afterwards. Upon inquiry, the entire operation was dubbed a mere training maneuver by the press staff of both companies, though to a surprisingly unprecedented large scale. No official statement by Norwegian authorities was made available regarding this incident so far.

PRT Campaign 13
Prep Battle 2 - RPX Victory

The paddy fields and jungles of Xiangshan have now been confirmed as the latest hotbed of PMC activity. With the competition for Asian contracts rising, the Vanguard Operations Group decided to launch an attack against occupied Riamh Pax territory in an attempt to prove their supremacy to the global markets. Although they saw some initial success, VOG struggled to hold any ground they gained and after some hours decided to withdraw from the area, not without inflicting significant damage to RPX, who could only truly claim a Pyrrhic victory.

PRT Campaign 13
Saaremaa

With both teams opting for an aggressive deployment, things got heated rather quickly for the second round of Saaremaa. The initial fighting quickly bounced between the two contested flags, with a constant back and forth of the teams trying to secure what they could. Eventually both teams managed to settle down on their own respective flags, with VOG taking the lead in tickets, but this didn't last for long as the pressure was almost immediately back on. Orissaare finally found itself out of focus when Runway Perimeter became the main point of contention. RPX had successfully managed to get VOG on the back foot territorially, managing to capture VOG's second flag. While VOG did eventually manage to temporarily reduce RPX's control of the area and flip the flag neutral, it wasn't permanent as RPX's counter attack found themselves back in control once again. This patch includes some more fixes for the recent v1.5 release as well some other balances and tweaks. We also have some exciting news in the mapping department! Sahel has left the BETA program and is now a fully completed level. We also introduce with v1.5.3 the reworked Iron Ridge featuring the Polish Forces. This map didn't make the v1.5 release but is now ready to be played. Further have we implemented the amazing HD fonts by community modder TBob. Read all the details below.

We would also like to mention that we are aware of a decrease in performance for many users. We don't know at this time the exact reason(s) for this but we are investigating it further. If you want to help with this and other testing, join the testing team!
